The September marathon of Fashion Week has just wrapped up, and I invite you to take a look at the five major beauty trends that have emerged on the runways and that you can adopt. Let’s break the ice right away: this winter, we’re not holding back and we’re ditching the too-sensible nude for an explosion of colors and glitter. From the runways to the backstages and soon to our homes: here’s an overview of the 5 most striking trends that will invade our beauty routines. Get ready to embrace these stunning and easy-to-replicate looks!
1. Colorful Eyes from Fashion Week
Hyper-colored eye makeup is making a strong comeback this season at Dries Van Noten and Loewe, bringing an explosion of bright and bold colors to our beauty routines. This winter, we counter the dreary weather with heavily made-up eyes and surprising combinations: fuchsia pink, electric blue, emerald green, or bright yellow.
This beauty trend is a true invitation to play with colors, and you can even dare to try a line of colored eyeliner for a fun and artistic look. Personally, I’m a bit fond of the yellow lashes we saw at Dries Van Noten. I recommend that if you want to try colored mascara, wear a rather light minimalist outfit or even completely white to softly highlight your makeup.
How to adopt this trend? Buy a beautiful quality color palette with shades you love and colors that complement your skin tone.
2. The Metallic Beauty Touch
The metallic trend is emerging as one of the most captivating of the season. It appears on the eyes, but also on the nails and lips at Miu Miu. Seen on the runways, these shimmering metallic-reflective eyeshadows add a futuristic touch to the silhouette.
The color being very cool and shiny, it’s best to wear it in small doses, but after all, we are entering the Halloween season, so nothing is stopping you from adopting a slightly gothic look like at Rick Owens, who dares to go for a total metallic look.
How to adopt this trend? Simply apply a creamy or powder metallic eyeshadow all over the eyelid for an intense effect, or in subtle touches at the corner of the eye to brighten the gaze. On the nails, you can choose between a total metallic manicure, or you can also opt to add small metallic details to your nails for a more discreet touch.
3. Glowy and Natural Skin
Glowing, naturally radiant skin is undeniably the standout trend of this season. Gone are the days of heavy contouring; this year focuses on fresh, radiant skin without artifice. The goal? A “no make-up” effect for breathable and radiant skin. To achieve this perfect glow, we focus on hydrating bases! It’s also a good time to review or change your beauty routine. Don’t hesitate to explore the Korean beauty routine, which is the best for achieving that perfectly glowy skin you see on the runways. I discuss it in our weekly newsletter. The Korean routine allows for hydration and luminosity in ten steps (or less, it’s up to you based on your needs).
How to adopt this trend? Use products consistently by adopting a good skincare routine and occasionally do face yoga to work the muscles and rejuvenate the skin.
4. Minimalist Nails
It’s time to choose your new fall manicure, but if you want to follow beauty trends this year, simply opt for simplicity with a minimalist manicure. This is the choice made by Alexander McQueen, Gabriela Hearst, and Hermès, to name a few, during this latest Fashion Week.
The trend focuses on neutral colors like beige, nude, or white, and even 100% natural, with simple geometric patterns if you like to add some flair. Nails are adorned with delicate details, such as small dots, fine lines, or abstract designs for a subtle yet refined effect. Simplicity reigns, but with a creative touch.
How to adopt this trend? The first rule for beautiful nails is to take care of them. Whether you’re a regular at the salon or a home manicure enthusiast,
5. Wild Brows
The Paris Fashion Week marked the return of Cara Delevingne to the runways and… completely wild brows!
This season, it’s all about thick, bushy, and natural eyebrows. The brows have gone completely wild at Victoria Beckham and Loewe, adding so much more character to the models! The idea among the designers is to enhance the natural texture of the brows, giving them volume without freezing them. Slightly brushed-up brows with a clear or lightly tinted gel add a touch of personality while remaining subtle.
How to adopt this trend? For those with very fine brows, I recommend defining them with a brown pencil (brown is better than black for a more natural look) before brushing them up to widen the gaze.
