5 Ways to Wear Leopard Print This Year

Given the fervor for leopard print this season, we had to revisit this pattern, oh so criticized or adored… In short, it leaves no one indifferent.
If animal prints are trending this season, leopard print holds a special place among celebrities who have adopted it, such as Kourtney Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, and Emily Ratajkowski.
Symbolizing the ostentatious, it is irreverent, provocative, and divisive, but that’s exactly why we love it.
Despite its sultry reputation, leopard print is easy to wear if you choose the right pieces. I’m sharing five ways to adopt the trend with class.
Why is leopard print so huge?
No surprise here, leopard print appears exactly at the same time as the Mob Wife trend. Coincidence? Definitely not, because the Mob Wife LOVES to flaunt this pattern on a large (faux) fur coat.
However, alongside the gaudy aesthetics of the Mob Wife, leopard asserts its power in a more feminine and subtle way on the Fashion Week runways.
This year, it’s simple: leopard print was everywhere. We saw it, of course, at Dior, but also at Céline, Balenciaga, Nina Ricci, and Saint Laurent.
To understand the success of leopard print in 2024, we must look towards the younger generation who are sharing on TikTok a new way to wear it that’s less ostentatious and suitable for everyday wear.
1/ Leopard print shoes
We start gently with leopard print on shoes. Probably the simplest way to wear this pattern, a lovely pair of leopard ankle boots or heels will be enough to spice up an outfit.
You can also opt for an even more discreet option with a pair of sneakers adorned with a few touches of leopard print that will dress up your look.
Opting for leopard print shoes has the advantage of attracting attention without crossing into vulgarity.
To make a too serious look a bit more hype, choose leopard ballet flats or wedge loafers. Guaranteed wow effect!
2/ The handbag
Very easy to pull off, a leopard print bag is a fashion classic. From clutches to shoulder bags, leopard print becomes very simple to wear.
For those who love a bit of sparkle, feel free to go for a bag with sequins that will add a festive touch to the leopard print. Another option: choose a bag with a gold chain strap to showcase the strong personality of the leopard print without overdoing it.
3/ The dress or jumpsuit
Yes to a total leopard print look! For this, don’t hesitate and go for a dress or jumpsuit for an unmistakable feline effect.
Of course, the goal when wearing a total leopard look is to avoid vulgarity, so unless you have the confidence of Kim Kardashian, I recommend choosing a relatively covering and flowy garment in which you feel comfortable.
4/ The pants or leggings
Are you team pants or team leggings? Either way, leopard print will perfectly dress you. Personally, I have a preference for leggings. I love to wear them with tall black boots, a long slightly kitschy t-shirt, and an oversized denim jacket. Fluid pants, jeans, or leggings, leopard print is very easy to pair with a black top for a final look that is classy and bold.
5/ The jacket
Proudly wearing a leopard jacket without looking like a mafia wife is, fortunately, possible! For that, there are a few rules to follow. Wear it in a classic cut like a blazer, in casual mode over a shirt, or modern in a bomber coat style.
While it can be as burlesque as it is caricatural, a fur coat can be difficult to wear without crossing into vulgarity. That’s why leopard print jackets in more classic or modern cuts are always a good choice.
Admit it, we all have a little leopard item tucked away somewhere in our wardrobes. Now is the perfect time to bring it out.
