The 4 Best Designer Collaborations for the End of the Year!

This publication is also available in: Français English (UK) Deutsch Italiano Español

In the world of fashion and lifestyle, the end-of-year celebrations often go hand in hand with unexpected designer collaborations. And this year is no exception: between a Japanese artist reinventing the aesthetic of Louis Vuitton and Jacquemus venturing into the art of living, designers are doubling down on boldness and creativity.

I have selected four incredible collaborations that, in addition to inspiring you, could contain the perfect gift to spoil your loved ones (or yourself)!

Jacquemus & Trudon

It has been a little while since Jacquemus has been expanding into the lifestyle domain (and spoiler alert: soon in beauty), and this collaboration with candle maker Trudon is proof of that. Presented as part of his “Winter Retreat” collection, Jacquemus has chosen a candle with the scent of Abd El Kader, likely reminding him of the sweet fragrances of his native Provence, with notes of mint, ginger, clove, lemon, and especially blackcurrant. The 270-gram cream-colored candle is available in a limited edition at stores in Paris, New York, and London.

Alongside the candle, Jacquemus offers in his “Winter Retreat” collection a range of luxury entry-priced accessories, ranging from 10 euros for a matchbox to 110 euros for a hot water bottle.

Lacoste & Maison Château Rouge

There’s no need to introduce Lacoste, a brand everyone knows. Maison Château Rouge, on the other hand, is less well-known to the general public, but it truly deserves attention. Founded in 2015 by Youssouf Fofana, this brand draws inspiration from African traditions and takes its name from the iconic Château Rouge neighborhood in Paris (which is also a metro station). Maison Château Rouge offers innovative and colorful streetwear collections: it’s safe to say they had all the assets for a successful collaboration with Lacoste.

The joint collection comprises four pairs of sneakers and eight exceptional pieces, including a leather jacket, a t-shirt, a cap, socks, and of course, a polo shirt. The garments, decidedly streetwear, pay homage to tennis while retaining Lacoste’s iconic lines, elevating sport to art. A hyper-creative capsule collection that I highly recommend you explore!

Maison Margiela & Dr Martens

This is the first collaboration between Maison Margiela, which loves to partner with other houses, and Dr. Martens!

An unexpected alliance, but one that makes perfect sense when examining the shared punk DNA of both brands.

In a limited edition, this collection offers three iconic shoe models that reinterpret the classic silhouettes of Dr. Martens: the legendary 1460 Boot, the Tall 1490 Boot, the 1461 Derby, and the Penton Loafer.

A collaboration aimed at reinventing the way to wear Dr. Martens while remaining as rebellious as it is classic, with high-quality materials and leather that will last for years!

Louis Vuitton & Takashi Murakami

Clearly, the Japanese artist and the luxury house make a duo that works wonderfully! After their first collaboration in 2002, Takashi Murakami and Louis Vuitton are back at it. Starting January 1, 2025, they will unveil a collection reinventing the iconic 2000s bag of the brand. It’s safe to say that this is one of the most anticipated designer collaborations of the year!

A key figure in contemporary art, Takashi Murakami captivates with his bold, joyful, and vibrant universe. His creations blend perfectly with the heritage of Louis Vuitton, offering pieces that are as spectacular as they are modern.

And honestly, I can’t wait to wear the iconic Louis Vuitton Y2K bag reimagined by this genius duo!

The end-of-year celebrations are inspiring for major brands; I hope you enjoyed these designer collaborations!
