In the heart of Paris, Acne Studios, the iconic Swedish house of avant-garde fashion, unveils its new gem, a private mansion steeped in history. Located at 48, rue des Petites-Ecuries, this place, once a pharmaceutical laboratory, transforms into a creative sanctuary, merging timeless elegance with modernity.
A Dialogue Between Past and Present
Designed by visionary Jonny Johansson, co-founder and artistic director, in collaboration with the Swedish firm Halleroed, this space brings together all the departments of the label, from creative studios to offices. The project honors the soul of the place, preserving the golden moldings and the original flooring, while integrating carefully selected contemporary artworks, creating a fascinating dialogue between the past and the present.
“We didn’t want to erase the historical effect of the building. On the contrary, we wanted to create a kind of dialogue between the past and the present.” – Jonny Johansson
The showroom, with its raw concrete columns and glass roof, invites contemplation. The designer furniture by Max Lamb and the custom lighting installation by Benoît Lalloz add a touch of modernity to this space rich in history. Each piece, every detail, such as the marble sculpture by Daniel Silver, evokes a subtle elegance that resonates with contemporary trends.
Accommodating up to eighty collaborators, this space becomes not just a workplace but also a true creative laboratory, where art and fashion meet. In a world seeking authenticity and meaning, Acne Studios once again establishes itself as a key player in the fashion scene, redefining the codes of elegance and innovation.
