Shh… a new capsule collection is about to bloom with spring. On March 12, Christian Louboutin and Maison Margiela will finally unveil their treasure: a collection of seven shoes, including three pairs of Maison Margiela by Christian Louboutin and four pairs of Christian Louboutin by Maison Margiela.
This collaboration is the result of designers’ work, but above all, a long-standing friendship between the creator of the red soles and John Galliano. It was during a lunch that the two friends came up with the idea for a collection that highlights their mutual influences. After a year of work, and a first teaser of their collaboration during the now-famous haute couture show of Maison Margiela’s spring/summer 2024, here it is: the capsule collection is about to see the light of day.

The Capsule Collection
It’s a friendship of nearly 40 years that binds the two designers… and both of them praise each other’s work. Speaking about this capsule collection, Christian Louboutin stated: “Working with someone you love and respect has been the most enjoyable aspect of the collaboration.”
In keeping with Christian Louboutin’s tradition, the shoes bear names that reflect this creative collaboration.
The aim of this capsule collection is, on one hand, to return to the foundations of craftsmanship and know-how, a field in which both luxury houses excel, and on the other hand, to explore adaptability and the language of proportions.
Thus, the two French brands are signing an interesting capsule of shoes that explores the relationships of influence in fashion.
Maison Margiela by Christian Louboutin
Are we going to (once again) witness the grand return of the ballerina with this capsule collection? Maybe… The answer will come in a few weeks.
In the meantime, the capsule Maison Margiela reimagined by Christian Louboutin features the iconic split toe of the Tabi – a design inspired by 15th-century Japanese footwear – incorporated into strappy ballet flats and stiletto heels.
The Bridela Strass also adopts this split toe while maintaining its iconic look, while the Loubiella, enhanced by the craftsmanship of the Louboutin workshops, boldly rethinks asymmetry.

To capture the essence of the French designer with red soles, Maison Margiela reinterprets the structure of pointed-toe leather pumps, exploring deconstructed aesthetics and a subtle play between black, white, and transparency. The result? A streamlined silhouette that strips the shoe of the unnecessary to reveal all its beauty in its rawest form.
