Daisy Edgar-Jones: Fashion Icon on the Twisters Press Tour

This publication is also available in: Français English (UK) Deutsch Italiano Español

While many of us discovered her as Marianne in the hit series Normal People, this summer, we find her in the midst of tornadoes in the blockbuster Twisters, a remake of the 90’s hit film. But beyond just playing the role of a thrill-seeking storm chaser, Daisy Edgar-Jones embodies, more than ever, a new face of fashion by transforming the press tour into a true catwalk! An analysis of looks we want to adopt as soon as the school year starts!

Daisy Edgar-Jones, couture version

After Charli XCX’s Brat or Sabrina Carpenter’s bangs against Jenna Ortega’s intense black, it’s Daisy Edgar-Jones’s turn to create a sensation.

Like Paul Mescal, her on-screen partner in Normal People, the British actress has a great affection for Gucci. After posing for Alessandro Michele, the young woman continues to support the Italian house as one of the familiar faces at the shows envisioned by Sabato de Sarno.

Highlighted by Gucci at prestigious events such as the BAFTAs, Golden Globes, or Vanity Fair parties, Daisy Edgar-Jones has once again become the muse of the house’s art director for this press tour of the film Twisters. Notably, she wore a long white dress that she claims is one of the most beautiful pieces she has ever worn.

In addition to the Italian house’s talent, Daisy Edgar-Jones has worn memorable pieces from other designers. For instance, the draped dress by Vivienne Westwood for the London premiere of Twisters, the sequined Oscar de la Renta dress worn at the Met Gala 2022, and a tweed and feather ensemble by Magda Butrym and a corset dress by Versace at various red carpets. All paired with Tiffany and Co or Cartier jewelry.

Daisy Edgar-Jones’s vintage-inspired wardrobe

Daisy Edgar-Jones’s style is feminine and elegant (chic and demure as some might say), while reinventing the timeless with a few vintage touches.

Whether on the red carpet, talk shows, magazine covers, or in everyday life, the actress has created a wardrobe identity that makes a grand impact. Recently photographed for Vogue Korea and Who What Wear, she stands out in 70’s and Y2K-inspired outfits that are well-executed.

From tartan patterns to bardot collars, this retro influence completes her everyday wardrobe, punctuated by loafers with socks or burgundy leather bombers, aka the new color for back-to-school.

Twisters: a press tour resembling a fashion show

From Dallas to Miami, via London, LA, NYC, Oklahoma, and Seoul, the press tour took the film team to all corners of the globe. A tour that we followed like a fashion week, given how carefully Daisy Edgar-Jones’s outfits were chosen.

In addition to traveling with Glen Powell and Anthony Ramos (always ready to try a Tik Tok dance), the actress surrounded herself with a strong team, including Madeline Isaacs (daily styling), Jo Baker (makeup), Dani Michelle (red carpet styling), and Bryce Scarlett (hair).

The looks worn by the actress reflect her image, balancing femininity and vintage. We noticed numerous influences of quiet luxury and old money aesthetic, partly through wide pleated trousers and tailored blazers. Additionally, denim made its way into her luggage, along with sheer pieces.

The outfits are graphic, featuring cut-out dresses, asymmetrical pieces, or perfectly tailored tweed sets. Meanwhile, other looks imagine a more retro silhouette by combining raw denim, cowboy boots, oversized leather bombers, and white t-shirts, brought back to life by the series The Bear. In fact, Ayo Edebiri, who plays Sydney in the FX and Hulu series, praised Daisy’s looks under one of her Instagram photos: “These looks have become very personal to me”. And we must admit, they have become personal for us too.
