The decor trends that will invade our interiors in 2025

The 2025 decor trends mark a quest for softness and calm. The colors are natural, the shapes are organic, and arches gracefully appear between two rooms. There is a more than ever desire for balance between comfort, authenticity, and respect for the environment. Without forgetting a touch of fun and eccentricity, for an authentic interior. Here are four major lines that are emerging.

The slow decor

With responsibility in mind, the trend is towards slow even in our decor. The slow decor, which prioritizes quality and the longevity of furniture, will continue to develop in 2025. For a durable and eco-friendly interior, the focus is on natural materials: solid wood, linen, organic cotton, wool, clay, bamboo, hemp, rattan, or even jute.

This decor trend favors ethically made furniture, and minimalism is in vogue: less, but better, will be your motto. Thus, you will choose your furniture and decorative objects carefully, from an artisan, a creator, or an artist.

It is also the perfect time to restore that antique piece inherited from your grandmother, and to scour flea markets in search of vintage gems.

Slow living promotes well-being, so we prioritize uncluttered spaces, soft lighting, and calming colors, often neutral or inspired by nature. Of course, we aim for zero waste and furniture and materials from local production (France and neighboring countries preferably).

Natural colors

Two raw and natural decor trends will assert themselves in 2025, the molcajete trend and the terracotta trend.

The molcajete trend draws inspiration from the object of the same name, a traditional stone mortar used mainly in Mexican cuisine. Handcrafted from volcanic stone, it inspires a raw and organic decor: using rocky and textured materials, and decorative objects like vases, dishes, or even furniture in natural stone or raw concrete.

The color palettes associated with this trend include stone-inspired shades like gray, charcoal black, and earthy tones like ochre and brown, which are often paired with yellow and gold.

As for the terracotta, a strong trend in interior decoration in recent years, it clings to our furniture and intends to stay in our living rooms for a while longer. We love its ability to bring warmth and authenticity into the home.

In vases, tiles, textiles, its color palette inspired by baked natural clay, ranges from burnt orange to earthy reds, including soft browns and clay pinks.

A palette that easily embraces neutral shades such as beige, off-white, gray, or even natural colors like olive green and sky blue.

Rounded lines

Furniture with soft and rounded lines will be popular in 2025. We are looking for soothing spaces, reassuring, and furniture that embraces the curves of nature. Thus, our sofas, armchairs, and tables will adopt more organic shapes.

The arches continue to appear abundantly. Doors and corners round out for an interior full of softness. We love arches as a transition between two rooms, but also right in the middle of the living room: we paint an arch here, we cut wallpaper in the shape of a semicircle there.

Futuristic aesthetics

Natural, raw, and responsible, of course, but the 2025 decor trends also reinvent the Memphis style, this movement from the 1980s that combines bright colors, geometric shapes, and a playful and futuristic aesthetic. This year, the trend incorporates terrazzo patterns, mirrors, and organic light fixtures. And because we remain slow living despite the fun, craftsmanship is highlighted, creating an artistic and stimulating decor, where each space becomes a work of art.
