The Flower Café, the Jacquemus event at Galeries Lafayette that you can’t miss

This publication is also available in: Français English (UK) Deutsch Italiano Español

In the midst of fashion show season, one event seems to overshadow them all. From March 1 to April 2, the windows of the grand boulevards in the capital are adorned with poetry and floral moments for “The Jacquemus Obsessions.” With 16 windows, 3 XXL corners, and a flower café, the Jacquemus event at Galeries Lafayette highlights, once again, the creativity of the designer, who continues to engage with his ardent admirers by offering unique moments that radiate his sweet and sunny universe, like a nostalgic postcard. A discovery of an installation as an ode to creation.

Customer Experience in the Era of Simon Porte Jacquemus

Although the designer has no physical store, his creativity offers us enchanted interludes to immerse ourselves in his universe. As we highlighted last year, Jacquemus fashion shows are always eagerly awaited, as they enchant us with the poetry that envelops them and the imagination that guides the models’ steps through staging that pays homage to nature, rethinking it and playing with its elements.

From a lavender field to a salt quarry, through a fine rain of raffia, or transporting us to a summer day in a wheat field, Simon Porte Jacquemus immerses us in his daydreams, creating emotion through the elements, all while maintaining elegance and simplicity.

The scenographies praised for his fashion shows resonate with echoes of his temporary installations, cherishing and strengthening the bond with his clientele. Although he does not have an address, the man with the Provençal aura designs timeless events to create closeness while fostering creativity. A way to stand out and rethink the customer experience.

The Beginnings of the Jacquemus Event at Galeries Lafayette

After his pop-up store selling flowers in Montmartre, his 24/7 vending machine, Le Bonbon, which traveled from Paris to Milan, and his giant bathroom “Le Bleu Jacquemus” that made its mark at the iconic Selfridge in London, the prodigy of beige tones and nostalgic motifs now spreads his creativity in an immersive installation at Galeries Lafayette. A new collaboration between the designer and these department stores, where he had already infused his personality and inventiveness into two food addresses at the Galeries Lafayette on the Champs Élysées, with Café Citron and Restaurant Oursin. A tableware art also highlighted in collaborations with ceramists like Daphné Léon.

Following the successful opening of his ephemeral boutique at 58 rue Montaigne at the end of 2022, where we can enjoy popcorn while deciding between the Bambino and the Chiquito, Galeries Lafayette has given Simon Porte Jacquemus free rein to showcase his universe and story through windows and corners throughout March. Additionally, a flower café has been set up for two weeks to bring some warmth before spring arrives.

Of course, we couldn’t miss this moment, and we went right at the launch, where we even spotted the designer navigating between a giant Bambino and an XXL branded toast. Off we go for the visit.

The Jacquemus event at Galeries Lafayette embraces a unique aspect, offering an invitation in the form of a branded toast spread with a signature butter. At Jacquemus, even the smallest detail is carefully considered to provide us with a complete dive into his universe, and we willingly immerse ourselves in it.

Café Break Amid Tulips at the Jacquemus Event at Galeries Lafayette

Wednesday, March 1, 2023: while fashion lovers try to find their way to one of the many coveted catwalks of Paris Fashion Week, my personal quest takes me to the grand avenues of the capital. 10 AM, watch in hand, I spot a large branded cube in the distance at the entrance, as soothing as the décor of the Le Papier show. Beside it, staff members dressed entirely in beige, no doubt, I have indeed arrived at the Jacquemus event at Galeries Lafayette.

Once on the other side of this mysterious cube, we are revealed a haven of softness and poetry, with bouquets of white tulips, subtly aligned, highlighting the imminent arrival of spring and mingling with the gentle aromas of coffee. Florists and baristas share this background, all in a minimalist design that is so characteristic of Jacquemus’s DNA, creating a tableau as enchanting as one of his fashion shows.

I save the coffee for later; now, it’s time to head to the windows. The banners signed by Jacquemus, brushed by the fresh wind of this morning, guide us along the way. On our stroll, we encounter windows that blend into works of art. The artichoke bucket greets us in an XXL version, while a branded glass spins in memory of last summer and its grenadine by the beach, signature pieces dry in the wind, revealing the shadows of first emotions. We relive the installations, campaigns, and shows of the designer, from the 24/7 vending machine to the Jacquemus laundromat, through the Raphia to his unbeatable and unforgettable show in the lavender fields.

The windows take the form of a journey back in time, showcasing the chapters that have accompanied the designer’s creations and the writing of his story. All of this is always presented in a clean style, full of character, just as we like it.

When the Jacquemus Event at Galeries Lafayette Thinks Big

Once through the doors, the Jacquemus event at Galeries Lafayette transports us through 3 corners. One features a giant toaster, from which a branded slice of toast pops out. A bit further, still in the women’s section, we come face to face with a giant Bambino, which we would gladly use as decoration in our interior. Inside, the range of Jacquemus bags is displayed, making everyone dream along a curve as enchanting as the path between the wheat stalks in his show “L’amour.”

On the men’s side, we discover a stack of towels that makes our heads spin like the Leaning Tower of Pisa, set against a giant laundromat scenography, showcasing pieces with paisley patterns and other gradients.

As I wander through the aisles, I find myself again face to face with the Bambino, now welcoming Simon Porte Jacquemus, surrounded by a horde of journalists capturing this moment forever. The designer glides between the installations, before our enchanted eyes, we discover the creator facing his creations, with a privileged feeling of witnessing a new stage in the radiance of the Jacquemus brand.

Jacquemus and Flowers

To continue the morning on this beautiful note at the Jacquemus event at Galeries Lafayette, I head towards the flower café. Two years after his ephemeral boutique Les Fleurs, it’s a joy to find this delicate touch and the blend of different universes, so characteristic of Simon Porte Jacquemus. On the beverage side, we have espresso at €2.50, cappuccino, latte, chai latte, and tea at €4.50, and hot chocolate at €5.

On the bouquet side, priced at €35, it consists of 15 white tulips wrapped in branded paper, tied with a Jacquemus ribbon as the final touch. A delicate bouquet that brings warmth after the hour spent queuing in the cold. Being at the launch with the press visit may explain a certain wait, but do plan for some time in front of you.

The Jacquemus event at Galeries Lafayette is meticulously detailed, from coffee cups and small napkins to biscuits to keep us entertained, as well as the little cardboard sleeve to slide our ticket into.

As usual, Simon Porte Jacquemus captivates us with his creations and installations, rich in originality, while maintaining simplicity and authenticity, perfectly reflecting his personality. Whether one is attached to the house or unfamiliar with his creations, the Jacquemus event at Galeries Lafayette allows anyone to discover his sunny aura and atmosphere.

The Jacquemus event at Galeries Lafayette feels like a suspended moment where creativity is celebrated, allowing us to rediscover the pieces with a fresh perspective.
