While it is customary to associate fringe with western-inspired outfits or biker jackets, in 2026, these are breaking more than ever from clich\u00e9s<\/strong> to make their mark on the runways. And between glamorous attire and everyday wardrobe, let\u2019s discover today how the fringe trend wants to establish itself this spring!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bold Comeback of the Fringe Trend<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There is no better place to catch a whiff of upcoming fashion trends, aside from the runways<\/em>, than on the red carpets of film festivals<\/a> and other ceremonies of the 7th art. Indeed, while Venice teased us with the first silhouettes designed by Jonathan Anderson for Dior<\/a>, the latest cinema events have confirmed the anticipated return of the fringe trend this spring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We can particularly mention the Ahluwalia dress worn by Wunmi Mosaku<\/strong> at the BAFTAs last night. This dress, in addition to adopting fringe in a graphic manner, was revealed in the color of the season predicted by Pinterest<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adding dimension, texture, and volume, these fine strips have challenged the imagination of designers this season to make this detail\u2014sometimes mocked\u2014a fashion asset, both retro and modern. One thing is for sure, in 2026, fringes are revealing themselves with flair! While some incorporate them in a rather traditional and minimalist way, with leather cutouts (Stella McCartney, Calvin Klein), others explore materials more deeply, thus giving the silhouette a festive, even playful touch<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, Pierpaolo Piccioli’s inaugural collection at Balenciaga has integrated fringed details through various approaches and materials. Incorporated in certain areas of the silhouette, they balance the shapes and add tonal details.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

An innovation quest has also been observed in the latest collections. On one hand, at Dior, with a bag featuring fringes as long as a train and in grass green<\/strong>, unveiled for Anderson’s first Haute Couture collection (not to mention his grass coat made for LOEWE that had us fascinated).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The same goes for Ala\u00efa by Pieter Mulier, where we discovered tights covered in fringes, immediately adding a dramatic touch to the stride<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the materials and craftsmanship used in the latest shows, we have observed a great appeal for featherwork<\/strong>. Seen at Balenciaga and Bottega Veneta, we also admired it in Jacquemus’s Le Palmier collection, where the designer integrated it in various ways, thus creating a more or less airy fringe spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The feather has been revealed in its entirety on some pieces, and in an unprecedented confetti silhouette on others. Adding a playful side to the fabric<\/strong>, Simon Porte Jacquemus turned to Maison F\u00e9vrier to create these details full of finesse and lightness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
