There\u2019s nothing better than the blue floral carpet of the Met Gala 2025 to illustrate the idea of Soft Power Suiting. With the dress code “Tailored for you,” this new edition challenged designers on the legacy of the black dandy figure<\/strong> and, consequently, on the codes of the suit. And we must say that the outfits presented this year completely charmed us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We particularly appreciated the attention to detail, lines, and colors paying homage to this history and its visual codes. Maintaining a traditional aspect, yet reinterpreted with taste and respect, resulted in elegant and refined outfits<\/strong> (except for a couple of misses) that perfectly highlighted the theme of the evening (unlike other years). More than ever, the creations were strong in message and wonderfully illustrated the idea of Soft Power Suiting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Met Gala 2025: A Lesson in Style and Tailoring<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The outfits revealed themselves in shades of black, gray, red, or midnight blue – classic, yet always impactful. Or in pastel tones, adding a hint of freshness, like Lupita Nyong’o’s Chanel ensemble. Silhouettes with defined waists<\/strong> were not lacking, featuring elegant and refined looks like Zendaya’s, or more vintage ones, like Monica Barbaro’s. We also noted several uses of layering, creating beautiful surprises, especially with Colman Domingo and Damson Idris. For the former, a suit revealed beneath a majestic cape. And for the latter, under a Formula 1 driver’s suit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between feathers, pearls, and other brooches, these reinterpretations of tailoring predominantly unveiled silhouettes that respected tradition while adding a note of modernity through thoughtful details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
