3 Irresistible Reasons to Fall for Headbands This Summer

This publication is also available in: Français English (UK) Deutsch Italiano Español

Summer has finally arrived, and with it, the fierce desire to add a feminine French touch to our outfits. Let’s be clear, if I’m talking about the headband, it’s because it’s already a trend that is starting to appear among the it-girls. Bella Hadid, Selena Gomez, and Zendaya no longer go out without this must-have accessory of the season.

If you’re not convinced yet, stay with me, because I promise you will love (and adopt) the headband this summer!

1 / The Headband: Beautiful and Practical!

Let’s be honest, even if we want to look our best in summer, we also want to be comfortable. – The era where you had to suffer to be beautiful is thankfully behind us – Personally, I love summer, but not sweating, so by adopting the headband, we avoid those pesky little hairs that stick to our forehead.

Similarly, if you’re going to the beach. If you have long hair that tangles easily, wearing a simple headband will keep your face clear while letting your hair flow freely.

Another great benefit: it allows you to have a real hair style without taking the time to style it. It sounds a bit like laziness, but on vacation, we don’t necessarily want to style our hair, nor do we have a hairdryer handy.

2. The Headband: Copy the 60s Look

If the 60s era continues to be a source of inspiration for contemporary designers, it’s because the outfits and hairstyles were unique.

A staple accessory of the 1960s, the headband revealed its sexy potential when worn by iconic actresses of the time like Brigitte Bardot and Catherine Deneuve.

  • The Black Headband

The basic one. This is my favorite because worn simply with a nude makeup + eyeliner, it immediately replicates the stunning sexy look of Brigitte Bardot.

  • The White Headband

It will be perfect to dress up a sporty outfit for playing tennis or going for a morning run on the beach for the more adventurous. It adds an interesting old money and sporty touch to the outfit.

  • The Knotted Headband

Pretty and delicate, the knotted headband adds undeniable charm to a summer outfit. However, warning… it gives a sweet little girl vibe that you might not want to emphasize too much as an adult. So wear it with care depending on your outfit.

  • The Floral Headband

Summer-like, it pairs well with a long summer dress or a simple outfit made up of a mini skirt and a monochrome top. If you opt for this option, avoid stripes or overly different patterns for your clothing. After all, nothing stops you from seeking inspiration from maximalist fashion to mix prints.

3. It Fits All Face Shapes (and Current Trends)

Whether you have a round, oval, or square face, you can adopt the headband, as it suits all face shapes.

  • The Old Money Style

The headband pairs very well with THE current fashion trend: the old money bob. Choose a black headband to highlight a blonde or caramel bob with small discreet earrings and you’re all set. A headband instead of a hairband works too, but it emphasizes the chic side while the headband adds a much sexier touch.

  • The Bohemian Chic Style

The ultimate summer look that allows you to adopt (and match) your headband with your dress by opting for floral patterns. To give even more personality to the look, add maximalist gold jewelry and very light makeup.

  • The Structured Look

We find inspiration from the 60s with the black headband in the style of Brigitte Bardot. Quite close to the old money trend, the structured look is more urban and modern. We use the headband as the final accessory to perfect a trendy city look.
