Offering us olfactory journeys since 1961, the Parisian perfume house Diptyque has just embarked on a new chapter in its history. Announced in mid-February, the creation of the Diptyque Foundation highlights the brand’s desire to be more involved than ever in the preservation of our biodiversity. Its program, designed for the next 5 years, aims to blend art and nature to create a new ecosystem conducive to raising awareness and the transmission of know-how.
How does the Diptyque Foundation want to cultivate the earth and imagination?
While LOEWE has been emphasizing craftsmanship for several years, with its LOEWE Foundation Craft Prize, the Diptyque Foundation, on the other hand, seeks to enhance nature and all its facets.
Built around three pillars, the foundation’s action plan aims to protect our plant heritage, see creation as a driver of change, and raise public awareness to reconnect with nature and its biodiversity.
Among the major actions announced, the Diptyque Foundation becomes a patron of places such as the French Academy in Rome – Villa Medici and the Serre de la Madone garden. This is to provide financial support to maintain and enhance these exceptional spaces. Additionally, the foundation also becomes a patron of the National Herbarium of the National Museum of Natural History in Paris. Here too, funding will support the research work carried out to preserve and strengthen this resource. This herbarium, which catalogs over 8 million specimens, is one of the oldest and most important in the world.
The transmission and awakening of consciousness are also central values of the Diptyque Foundation. Therefore, the latter wants, on one hand, to highlight essential trades involved in garden work. Notably, by partnering with the National School of Landscape in Versailles to foster new vocations of Master Gardener. Additionally, the foundation plans to implement and support educational initiatives to recreate a link between the public and nature.
